Singing the soundtrack for “Pachinko 2” is Rosé (Blackpink) ‘s first music project after leaving YG Entertainment.
At the end of July, when Apple TV+ posted the trailer for the TV series “ Pachinko 2 ”, the audience was surprised when the singer performing the soundtrack (OST) for this part of the film was Rosé from Blackpink.
Rosé covers the song “Viva La Vida” by British band Coldplay.
“I am honored to be a part of the trailer and season 2 finale of this award-winning and globally acclaimed drama series,” the singer shared in a group message with her Instagram fans.
This is the first time Rosé sings a movie soundtrack after 8 years of debut. This information quickly caused a storm on social networks.
Recently, screenwriter and producer Soo Hugh of “Pachinko” revealed the reason why the Blackpink singer participated in singing the soundtrack.
“For some reason, the original Coldplay version didn’t fit the footage, so we looked for a cover,” Soo Hugh shares. “At that time, one of our producers, Theresa, knew Rosé, they were friends. I thought, what if it was Rosé, but I also thought it would be difficult to do.
But when we contacted Rosé, she said yes right away and the collaboration was great. She’s very enthusiastic, very easy to work with, and very passionate.”
