The former One Direction star, 31, has often sported tall black and sometimes blond, look over the years and kept his beard to a minimum.

But the pop singer shocked fans when he took to social media at the onset of the weekend to show of his beard and mop top.

The Pillowtalk hitmaker picked up a red microphone in the video so he could sing an acapella version of his track Shoot At Will.

Zayn did not acknowledge the new look in his post, but fans took to the comments as they noticed the stark change instantly.

A second said: ‘Damn the beard’ and emblazoned their comment with crying face emojis.

A third simply joked: ‘i wanna be your mic’

Meanwhile, a debate ensued in the comments section between fans as to how Zayn had managed to achieve such a look to begin with.

Fans noticed that it has only been a matter of months since he was doing the press circuit in promotion for his album Room Under the Stairs.

One fan noted that the new look was ‘sick’ after concluding that Zayn had had enough time away from the spotlight to grow the impressive barnet.
