Truth or Dare is a supernatural horror film directed by Jeff Wadlow and produced by Blumhouse Productions.
The story revolves around Olivia Barron (played by Lucy Hale) and her group of college friends who, during a spring break trip to Mexico, meet a stranger named Carter. He invites them to play a harmless game of “Truth or Dare” in an abandoned church. However, after the game ends, the group soon discovers that they’ve unwittingly become part of a cursed version of the game. Upon returning home, they realize that the game has followed them, and if they refuse to play, lie, or fail a dare, they will be killed by the supernatural force controlling the game.
Each member of the group is forced to participate in increasingly dangerous and humiliating truths and dares, and the stakes grow higher as they attempt to uncover the origins of the curse. They find out that Carter had been involved in a previous game, and they must work together to stop the curse from claiming more victims.
As they delve deeper into the origins of the cursed game, they discover a sinister history tied to a Mexican nun who used the game to summon a demon named Calux. The group is faced with the challenge of outsmarting the entity while grappling with their own secrets and past mistakes.
