Cult of Chucky is the seventh installment in the iconic Child’s Play horror franchise, directed by Don Mancini. The film continues the story of the infamous killer doll, Chucky, voiced by Brad Dourif, and blends horror, dark humor, and psychological elements. It follows the events of Curse of Chucky (2013), expanding on Chucky’s reign of terror with a unique twist involving multiple Chucky dolls.

Plot Summary:

The film centers around Nica Pierce (played by Fiona Dourif), who has been committed to a mental institution after being falsely blamed for the murders committed by Chucky in Curse of Chucky. After years of therapy, she is convinced that Chucky was a figment of her imagination. However, when a therapist introduces a Good Guy doll (the same model as Chucky) as part of her treatment, a series of brutal murders begins, making Nica question her sanity once again.

Meanwhile, Andy Barclay (played by Alex Vincent), Chucky’s original nemesis from the first Child’s Play film, is aware that Chucky is still alive. Andy keeps Chucky’s severed head locked in his cabin and regularly tortures it to prevent Chucky from causing further harm. When Andy learns about the murders at the mental institution, he sets out to stop Chucky once and for all.

The twist in this installment comes from Chucky’s discovery of a voodoo spell that allows him to split his soul into multiple dolls. This creates a “cult of Chucky” as several possessed Good Guy dolls wreak havoc within the institution. The film ends with a shocking conclusion, leaving the door wide open for future sequels.
