Latest One Piece Episode Finally Reveals The Fate Of Trafalgar Law

Not long after setting sail from Wano, the Heart Pirates were ambushed by Blackbeard, one of the four strongest pirates in One Piece. The Yonko was expecting either Luffy, Law, or Kid to head to Winner Island, so all he had to do was wait, and his prediction came true when the Heart Pirates turned up near the island.

The Blackbeard Pirates wasted no time in attacking Law’s submarine. Despite the latter’s best attempts, a full-on confrontation looked inevitable, and this is exactly what happened. Law and his crew were forced to anchor on Winner Island and engage in a battle.

The Two Worst Generation Members Fight It Out

Blackbeard wanted to steal Law’s Road Poneglyphs. The former was aware that the Supernova would have taken the rubbings from Kaido’s Road Poneglyph. If Blackbeard managed to beat Law, he would avoid the hassle of traveling to Wano and finding the Road Poneglyph.

A weak-willed individual would have handed over the rubbing without even thinking twice. However, Trafalgar Law would never go down without at least fighting his opponent. In the early exchanges, Law managed to land a few good hits on Blackbeard, even making the Yonko cough up blood. Unfortunately, he couldn’t build on his great start when Blackbeard started to use the Yami Yami no Mi. It is the bane of every single Devil Fruit. The rest of the fight was off-screened, but deep down, fans knew that the Yonko would humiliate Trafalgar Law. The result of the battle between the two Worst Generation members remained a mystery, that is until Episode 1115 was released.

Trafalgar Law Survives By A Whisker

Bepo Comes To His Captain’s Rescue

In Episode 1115, it was confirmed that Trafalgar Law had fallen. His submarine was completely decimated by the Blackbeard Pirates, which effectively ended his run as a pirate. To make matters worse, Blackbeard wanted to take Law’s Devil Fruit. He was aware of Ope Ope no Mi’s value. Blackbeard was torn between selling the Devil Fruit and using it for himself. The Yonko knew that the Ope Ope no Mi could grant him perpetual youth, which would make him unstoppable.

Alternatively, Blackbeard could sell the Devil Fruit. In the past, the Devil Fruit had a price of 5 billion berries. It is plausible to assume that the cost would have gone up by at least a billion. So, Blackbeard could trade for 6 billion berries. To achieve either end product, Blackbeard would have to kill Law, and he was more than happy to do it.

Thankfully, Law had one ally who was still able to move. This individual was none other than Bepo, the polar bear Mink. Bepo is fiercely loyal to Law, which is why he was deeply disturbed by the prospect of Blackbeard killing his captain.

I gotta save him…no matter what! —Bepo

With no other option left, Bepo used a drug created by Chopper, allowing him to tap into his Sulong form. This boosted Bepo’s strength significantly, and he was able to thrash the Blackbeard Pirates. However, the effects of the drug were temporary, and Bepo soon ran out of energy. He was barely able to buy some time, so he needed to be quick to get Law away from Winner Island. As Bepo swam away with Law, the latter told him to stop as he didn’t want to abandon his friends. Bepo reminded him that their crewmates were resilient, and they would survive at all costs.

What Does This Mean For The Story?

The Blackbeard Pirates Leapfrog Their Rivals

The demolition of Law’s crew means he is no longer in contention to claim the One Piece. After working so hard, the Heart Pirates will be disappointed to miss out on the biggest treasure. But they must take solace in the fact that they can survive and rebuild. Trafalgar Law and his crew will not have an immediate role in the Final Saga, although they might return to the story in the last couple of arcs.

On the other hand, the Blackbeard Pirates gained the valuable Road Poneglyphs they will need to find Laugh Tale. Presently, the crew has three Road Poneglyphs, putting them in the driving seat along with the Straw Hat Pirates and the Red Hair Pirates. Blackbeard even resolved the problem of reading the Poneglyphs as he ordered Kuzan to kidnap Charlotte Pudding from Whole Cake Island. Pudding is a member of the Three-Eye Tribe. The members of this group can decipher Poneglyphs with their third eye. Last time fans saw Pudding, she was unable to harness the ability. However, it is unclear if she has awakened the power since.

With his victory over Law, Blackbeard can return to Hachinosu and start working on the next part of the plan. A cunning individual like him will not waste too much time dilly-dallying, so it won’t be long before fans learn what the Yonko wants to do next. If one were to guess, Blackbeard’s next step would be to find the man with the burn mark who is said to be holding on to one Road Poneglyph.
