The story follows Ellie (played by Vinessa Shaw), a recovering addict and single mother who is trying to rebuild her life with her two children, Kyle (Colin Ford) and Amy (Eloise Lushina), after a troubled past. Ellie has moved to a new town in hopes of starting fresh, but her recovery process proves difficult, and her children remain skeptical of her ability to stay clean.

Things take a darker turn when Ellie meets Christopher (James Ransone), a mysterious man who turns out to be a vampire. Christopher “helps” Ellie in a twisted way by turning her into a vampire, claiming that her addiction to blood will replace her cravings for drugs. This transformation, however, complicates Ellie’s life as she struggles with her newfound bloodlust while trying to maintain her relationship with her children.

As Ellie’s vampiric urges grow stronger, she becomes a threat to her own family. Her son Kyle, who is already wary of her past, begins to suspect that something is wrong. The family’s bond is tested as Ellie tries to manage her cravings, protect her children, and come to terms with her new existence as a vampire.
