Eli (2019) is a supernatural horror film directed by Ciarán Foy. It combines elements of psychological horror, medical thriller, and supernatural twists, creating an eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The film is centered around a young boy suffering from a mysterious illness, only to discover that the cure he’s seeking might be far more dangerous than his condition.

Plot Summary:

The story follows Eli (played by Charlie Shotwell), a young boy who suffers from a severe autoimmune disorder that forces him to live in a completely sterile environment. His parents, Rose (Kelly Reilly) and Paul (Max Martini), take him to a secluded, high-tech medical facility run by Dr. Isabella Horn (Lili Taylor), who claims she can cure him through a series of experimental treatments.

At first, Eli is hopeful about the prospect of living a normal life. However, as the treatments begin, he starts experiencing terrifying hallucinations and encounters what seem to be ghostly figures in the facility. As his condition worsens, Eli begins to suspect that the hospital is hiding dark secrets and that Dr. Horn’s methods might not be what they seem.

With the help of Haley (Sadie Sink), a mysterious girl who communicates with him from outside the facility, Eli uncovers the truth about his condition and the real purpose of the treatments. The story takes a shocking twist as Eli learns that he is not merely a sick child but is part of a much darker, supernatural experiment.
