Creep 2 (2017) is a found footage psychological horror-thriller film directed by Patrick Brice. It is the sequel to the 2014 film Creep and continues the unsettling, eerie atmosphere established in the original. Starring Mark Duplass and Desiree Akhavan, the movie delves deeper into the mind of a serial killer while exploring themes of manipulation, trust, and fear.
Plot Summary:
Sara (Desiree Akhavan) is a struggling video artist who creates a YouTube series in which she meets and documents the lives of unusual and eccentric people. Desperate for new content, she responds to an online ad from Aaron (Mark Duplass), a man who claims to be a serial killer, offering $1,000 to film him for a day.
Sara meets Aaron at a remote cabin, where he immediately reveals that he is indeed a serial killer. Unlike his previous victims, Sara doesn’t immediately flee; instead, she sees it as an opportunity to create an intriguing episode for her web series. Intrigued by her calm demeanor and willingness to continue, Aaron decides to let her stay, playing a disturbing game of psychological cat-and-mouse with her.
As Sara records her interactions with Aaron, the boundaries between performance and reality blur. Aaron shares his dark and bizarre stories, attempting to scare her while trying to get her to admit she’s truly afraid. But Sara’s ability to remain composed and engaged challenges Aaron, and he becomes obsessed with finding new ways to unsettle her. As the day progresses, the tension mounts, and Sara begins to question whether she can trust Aaron or if she is in real danger.
